Jaime Leaños is an associate professor at the University of Nevada, Reno. His major areas of research center on Medieval and Renaissance Spanish literature. In 2006, he was the runner-up for the prestigious Alan Bible Teaching Excellence Award. Leaños' publications include a book on the influence that Aeneas Sylvio Piccolomini (later Pope Pius II, 1458-64) had on the court of one of the most influential Spanish queens, Isabel the Catholic (Scripta Humanistica, 2007) and various articles on canonical medieval Iberian works such as the Celestina, the Cantar of Mio Cid, the Milagros de Nuestra Señora, and Pope Pius II. Another book monograph will came out in 2017 on the Christian-Muslim relations in the Middle Ages. He teaches literature classes on the intersection of Christian, Muslim and Jewish religions as well as Spanish culture courses.
