Students in the Nevada Living Learning Community

Eligibility Criteria

  • Admission as an incoming freshman to the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Declared major in the College of Science
  • Placement into MATH 127R or higher for the first semester (requires one of the following):
    • SAT Math score of 610+
    • ACT Math score of 27+
    • Completion of MATH 126R or equivalent with a C- or better
    • Accuplacer Math Placement exam

The College of Science Living Learning Community (LLC) is for incoming freshmen with a declared major offered by the College of Science.

The students in this program live together in the Nevada Living Learning Community Residence Hall and have opportunities to interact with university faculty and professionals from the Northern Nevada region and beyond who are successful in their careers in science, engineering, and medicine.

The goal of the program is to develop a community among College of Science freshmen who have similar academic interests and goals along with providing mentorship and some extracurricular activities to enhance their first year at the university.
