Investing in your spiritual well-being helps establish personal identity and positive self-esteem when you are living in accordance with your values. A strong spiritual connection is correlated to increased life expectancy, faster recovery from depression/anxiety, lower suicide rates, lowered risk of misusing substances, and increased marital satisfaction.

Support your spiritual well-being

Determine what values, principles, and beliefs are important to you and align your actions to reflect these.

Take time throughout your day to pause, meditate, and reflect on your recent experiences or life events.

Express what is on your mind: speak to others, write it down, or utilize an artistic outlet.

  • Do I feel a connection to something larger than myself?
  • Do I take time alone to think about what is important in life: who I am, what I value, where I fit in, and where I am going?
  • Do I seek out meaning in my life?
  • Do I engage in acts of caring and good will without expecting something in return?
  • Do I feel confident that I have touched the lives of others in a positive way?
