Physical well-being

The condition of your body impacted by nutrition, physical activity level, and behaviors

Individuals working at the E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center

Physical well-being encompasses more than what you see in the mirror. It involves having the capability to have your body work for you the way you want it to. This can be promoted through healthy eating habits, managing stress effectively, getting adequate rest and movement, and making wellness check-ups a priority, not just visiting a doctor when you don’t feel well.

Support your physical well-being

Listen to your body, choose foods and activities that make you feel good and limit those that don’t.

Follow recommended guidelines for alcohol consumption, should you choose to drink.

A membership to the E.L. Wiegand Fitness Center is included in your tuition. Find a group fitness class you like, or if you prefer to work out alone, ask the fitness center staff how to properly use equipment.

Take charge of your health and attend regular wellness check-ups with your health care provider. Preventive services are often covered by your health insurance.

Engage in safer sex by limiting the number of partners you have, correctly using protective barriers (condoms) each time, and getting tested for sexually transmitted infections.

Aim to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
