Application for Admission
Application for admission to the Justice Management Program is included in the application to the University of Nevada, Reno Graduate School.
Admission to the University's Graduate School requires an undergraduate grade-point average of at least 2.75 on a scale of 4.0, or an average of at least 3.0 for courses taken during the last half of the undergraduate program, and a completed baccalaureate degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
If your GPA does not meet this criteria, admission to graduate standing on a prescribed program may be considered. Alternatively, an applicant may take a limited number of courses - with permission from the Justice Management program - as a Graduate Special. This status does not guarantee admission to the program, but allows a student to demonstrate that he or she can satisfactorily perform graduate level work.
Scores of standardized tests such as the GRE are not required for application to the Master of Justice Management program.
APPLICATION TO THE JUSTICE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMCreate an "APPLY NEVADA" account and complete the graduate school application
You can work on your application, save it, make revisions later if you wish, and then submit electronically. You must submit that application and payment of application fees ($60 for all students) electronically.
When completing your application:
- if applying as a regular graduate student (full graduate standing) select "Graduate" under admit type
- If applying as a graduate special student select "Nondegree" under admit type
- Under the program dropdown select Justice Management (JM)
Toward the end of the application you will upload a personal statement document (not exceeding 500 words in length) indicating why you desire to enroll in this program, what you expect to derive from the experience, and what contributions to the justice system you expect to make as a result of participating in the Justice Management program. You are HIGHLY encouraged to spend the time and prepare your personal statement before starting the application.
After your application is complete, request ONE official transcript from the Registrar's Office at EVERY post-secondary school you've attended (community college, university, etc.). Official transcripts are those sent directly from the institution attended: personal copies or "issued to student" are not acceptable even if they are in sealed envelopes.
Request transcripts to be sent to:
