Getting Started: Faculty/Staff

Welcome to the University of Nevada, Reno!

The Information Technology department hopes that your first few days on campus go as smoothly as possible. For that reason, here are a list of resources to help you gain access to the tools you will need.

The first thing you should do, the day after you receive your Employee ID from Human Resources, is:

Login ID

Activate Your NetID

This is the main username and password you will use at the University.

With an activated NetID, you can also request access to the following:


New E-mail Account

All employees are entitled to an e-mail address.


HRMS Access

Your department admin assistant will know if you require a RACF ID to access HRMS, CAIS or Advantage.



The department scheduling assistant will know if you need access to MyNEVADA to access class rosters and gradebooks.
