The University offers training and development to employees to learn new skills, prepare for job duties, and develop careers.
Bridge Online Learning
Bridge is an online self-paced training series for Administrative and Financial Administrative Assistants. For more information, please email WorkdayLearning@unr.edu.
The Knowledge Base is a repository of articles for our users to research internal-facing policies, procedures, and how-tos. The Knowledge Base is available 24-7 and is your one-stop-shop for Workday, UNR-specific resources, and online training videos.
Training Calendar for Professional Development
Classroom training is offered through various departments on campus, including Human Resources, Advising, Business & Finance, and others. Training topics include Workday, AssetWorks, recruitment, employee relations, and a variety of subjects that change monthly.
Human Resources Online Network Meetings
Online Network meetings are intended for Human Resource partners and liaisons across campus who are interested in learning about administrative procedures, changes, and updates that affect the University. This group is designed to help you do your job better by communicating information to your departments and colleagues. Nearly 500 employees join the online Network meetings, which are held the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. via GoToMeeting online. Meeting participants can ask questions via the live chat during the meeting. If you would like to receive monthly agendas and a link to join these meetings, please email Bevin Anacker or call the Office of Human Resources at (775) 784-6082. Connecting for the first time is easy and takes about one minute. To join, simply click the meeting link a few minutes before it starts and follow the prompts to download and run the GoToMeeting app. Some computer configurations, including Mac, are not compatible with the desktop app and the meeting will automatically stream through your browser.
Teaching & Learning Technologies Workshops (Not just for instructors!)
Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) provides support to the faculty and staff across campus who use University-supported technologies for teaching, business, and communications. They offer workshops to help you create accessible documents, images, videos, web content, and email – all formats that are required to be compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA per the University Accessibility Policy. We recommend that all faculty, instructors, and administrative employees working with these formats take the following workshops:
- Basic Web Accessibility (useful for senders of email distribution lists as well);
- Creating Accessible Office Documents; and
- PDF Remediation for Accessibility.
