Honors Residential Scholars Community

A living learning community that gives Honors students the opportunity to take classes, participate in social activities, and live with other Honors students who share an interest in academic and professional issues. The community is open to qualified students of all academic majors who have been admitted to the Honors Program.
Goals: By the end of the academic year, students in the Honors LLC will:
  • Practice sustained engagement with the University Honors community through involvement in organized Honors activities and events outside of required coursework.
  • Organize study groups and peer academic support for Honors and other courses with the active involvement of their Resident Assistant and designated Academic Mentor.
  • Demonstrate community engagement in addition to mandatory first-year seminar requirements and reflect on experiences with their service learning assignment.
Events offered to students living in the LLC:
  • Honors "Real Talk" - A panel discussion about what it means to be a honors student at the university and common struggles faced in required coursework.
