Message from the Executive Director of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation
On Oct. 3, 2017 at the 36th Annual Foundation Banquet, the University entered the public phase of a comprehensive capital campaign, Building What Comes Next: The Campaign for the New Nevada. To meet the needs of our current and future students, we need to build long-term support for student scholarships, academic faculty positions and programs designed to strengthen the three pillars of the University: learning, discovery and engagement.
Since the beginning of my service in the University in 2003, we have grown the Foundation endowment from $46 to $196.5 million. More importantly, in that time, the growth of the endowment and your philanthropic support has helped us provide millions in donor-funded scholarships to thousands of students who might not have been able to receive an education without your support. Philanthropy has had a tremendous impact on the lives of our students.
In that same time period, enrollment has grown from 15,534 to 21,657, and we fully expect the University, like the state of Nevada, to continue to grow. As we enter the public phase of this capital campaign, we thank you for your contributions to the University and ask you to help us grow the New Nevada. Together, we will continue to build what comes next.
