Wes Johns

M.S. in Geology

I graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 with a B.S. in Geology. As an undergraduate, I worked on a research project mapping an exhumed mid-crustal shear zone and determining peak metamorphic conditions. After graduating, I worked in the USGS Earthquake Science Center where I assisted in research studying upper crust faults in California and Washington. As a graduate student, I will work with Dr. Andrew Zuza to determine the style of deformation in the Avawatz Mountains, at the intersection of the Garlock and the Southern Death Valley faults in Southern California.
