Pack Advantage

Here's how you qualify:

  • Nevada resident admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Institutional Methodology form submitted to the University of Nevada, Reno between October 1 and February 1
  • Full–time student
  • Pell Grant eligible EFC
  • Good academic standing
  • Maintain financial aid satisfactory academic progress

Eligible students are promised gift aid that will cover registration and mandatory fees and books for 15 credits each Fall and Spring semester for four years as long as you maintain a Pell eligible EFC and make satisfactory academic progress. The total gift aid offered to each Pack Advantage qualified student is reviewed each August, with additional Pack Advantage grant funds offered at that time if required to fulfill the promised value ($8,600 for the 2019-20 academic year). Gift aid includes but is not limited to grants, scholarships and tuition/fee waivers.  Any additional funds offered in August may be decreased if additional gift aid is received for the student.

Here's what to do:

  • Complete the FAFSA or the Institutional Methodology for FAFSA-Ineligible Students form before February 1st each year and select the University of Nevada, Reno to receive your information (school code: 002568)
  • Check your MyNEVADA account "To Do list" to be sure you have a complete financial aid file (June 1 priority deadline for documents related to verification, if applicable)
  • By February 1 annually, all continuing students are strongly encouraged to complete the MyNevada supplemental form titled: Graduate & Undergraduate Scholarship Application
  • When in doubt, contact the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office
