Building Notifications

Construction, Maintenance, and Outage Info for your Building
Facilities

Each building on campus has an occupant email list managed by Facilities Services, with automated subscription through the Employee Self Serve (ESS) System. Subscribed occupants of a building will be notified by email if they could possibly be impacted or inconvenienced by any of the following situations:

  • Utility Shutdowns
  • Parking Closures
  • Maintenance Efforts by Facilities Staff
  • Construction Projects Causing: Odors, excessive noise, entrance closures
  • Abatement
  • Other Situations Impacting Faculty, Staff and Students

Besides email notices, we now have a new, live, interactive, public campus map of construction. You may find that bookmarking this link may be an easier way for you to review current work in your area or on your campus route. By selecting points on the map, you can review the notice information and impact dates. For more general project information regarding major construction, please see our construction page.

I am not receiving notifications for my building!

Please check in the UNR staff directory to ensure that your office location is listed accurately - that means the right building AND the right abbreviation for that building. If it is not, you need to update it in the Employee Self Service (ESS) system.

A list of the correct building abbreviations for campus is located on the Around Campus pages. When entering your location information in ESS, please put the building abbreviation first followed by the room number. As an example, Facilities Services building, room 100 should read FS 100.

If you are not UNR staff, please contact us about your notification needs.

I am getting notices for a building I don't work in!

Please check in the UNR staff directory to ensure that your office location is listed accurately. If it is correct and you are still receiving notices to a wrong building, please contact us. Otherwise, to have your name removed from a building list, please make sure to delete your office location information in ESS (see instructions below).

I need to get notifications for more than one building!

Please check in the UNR staff directory to ensure that your primary office location is listed accurately - that will automatically subscribe you to your primary building. For the secondary building(s) you wish to be subscribed to, please contact us. To unsubscribe from these secondary buildings later, you'll need to request that via email again.
