Summary
In addition to teaching undergraduate courses, Alissa Surges is the Interim Director of Undergraduate Studies, where she works with students and faculty on student professionalization and applied liberal arts, curriculum issues, and creating a cohesive narrative for the department. In addition to teaching in the Gender, Race, and Identity program, Alissa has taught first-year composition as well as editing and publishing, professional writing, introductory linguistics, and literature. She has worked for three academic journals as a managing editor and copy editor and has edited and copyedited numerous monographs, academic articles, and commercial websites. One of her main interests is speaking to TransferFit students and welcoming them to the University of Nevada, Reno.
