Research and Outreach
The College of Engineering is a key contributor to research and educational programs that support Nevada's economic diversification and develop new technologies for our region and the nation.
The College's approach to economic development starts with K-12 outreach, introducing young students to engineering and preparing them to study STEM subjects in college. Our undergraduate programs graduate skilled workers ready to take high-tech jobs with companies in the region.
Our research programs address critical areas of our time such as cyber security, infrastructure, autonomous systems and renewable energy.
We offer a range of K-12 outreach programs that make engineering accessible to Nevada's next generation of technology leaders.
Our outreach programs help students learn about engineering as a discipline and explore engineering as a career. We also partner with local engineering firms for collaborative research and ongoing educational opportunities.
We continually pursue research excellence, and our faculty compete for nationally competitive grants.
Our research programs have grown significantly in the past decade, and we're growing rapidly in high-impact interdisciplinary areas such as advanced manufacturing, cyber security and autonomous systems.
We are committed to research that addresses local and national needs and contributes to economic diversification in our state.
Our research-active faculty are working with local industries, national agencies and scholars around the globe to develop impactful research programs that push the boundaries of engineering and offer innovative technologies to researchers and industry partners.
