Recent studies have shown that the average frequency of cyber attacks is as high as one in every three seconds. The nation has a significant shortage of cybersecurity professionals who can understand and effectively combat these growing threats. As a result, education and training in cybersecurity has become a national priority.
We offer cybersecurity education in an interdisciplinary environment that seeks to integrate technical expertise, business savvy and social context in developing holistic perspectives on cybersecurity challenges. Offered under the umbrella of the University's Cybersecurity Center, our cybersecurity degrees and programs equip graduates to provide industry-ready solutions to ever evolving cyber threats.
The University of Nevada, Reno offers two programs in cybersecurity. The undergraduate minor in cybersecurity is open to all undergraduate students at the University, although prerequisite courses may be necessary for students in some majors. The graduate certificate in cybersecurity is open to both currently enrolled master's degree students or professionals looking to enhance their education with a specialized education program in cybersecurity.
