Emergency preparedness

The University of Nevada, Reno Organizational Resilience office has developed individual preparedness guidance for many of the potential types of emergencies members of the University community could experience, including fire, hazardous materials releases, and active threats of violence.

Training on departmental emergency response planning or continuity of operations planning may be requested through the University Police Department-Northern Command website.

Building egress maps

EH&S produces, installs, and regularly updates building egress maps for most buildings owned by the University of Nevada, Reno.

These maps indicate a host of emergency response information including:

• Building name and number or street address
• Locations of primary and secondary exits and exit routes
• Locations and types of fire extinguishers
• Locations of fire alarm pull stations
• Locations of emergency shower and eyewash units
• Basic procedures to follow when the fire alarm sounds

Members of the University community with an active NetID may view or download the most up-to-date versions of egress maps from the Building Egress Maps Box folder.
