Fire Extinguisher & Evacuation Training
Each year there are over 100,000 fires nationwide. Knowing how to use a fire extinguisher to safely extinguish small fires, as well as well how to quickly evacuate the building, can significantly help prevent injury, death, and damage to property. The University of Nevada, Reno has created an online training module to teach employees and students about:
- Emergency evacuation procedures
- How to access building emergency response plans
- Evacuation maps
- Fire prevention
- Proper use of a fire extinguisher
- How to assist others in the event of a fire or evacuation
To access this training, please visit the EH&S Training Registration page and search for "Fire Safety" in the Online Training Events section. Once you have completed this training, you may contact either the Safety Specialist or Training Manager to schedule a hands-on training session with the fire extinguisher. This hands-on session utilizes the BullEx BullsEyeTM laser-driven training system, which can be used safely indoors or outdoors.
For more information, or if you would like to schedule an in-person training for your group on campus, please contact the Safety Specialist at firstname.lastname@example.org .
