The Community University School Partnership (CUSP) represents a collaborative relationship among the College of Education, Washoe County School District and other Colleges at the University of Nevada, Reno. This set of partnerships has identified a common goal - to work together through shared educational initiatives that support student learning based on the Nevada Academic Content Standards.
The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno and the public school districts are cooperatively involved in the Dean's Future Scholars program to recruit diverse students into teacher education. The goal of DFS is to increase the number of low-income, first-generation students graduating from high school, gaining access to higher education, and entering a career in the field of education.
The Nevada Mathematics Project engages in cutting edge research to improve mathematics and science instruction in Nevada statewide and beyond. The initiative works within the education system of Nevada and has state and national collaborators.
Our mission is to support and encourage girls from varied backgrounds to increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence in mathematics, as well as technology use for mathematics learning. The program provides learning opportunities, resources, and participation in a supportive community.
The Northern Nevada Writing Project provides professional development and leadership opportunities for teachers and administrators interested in both improving and celebrating student writing. Each year, the NNWP sponsors professional development that takes many forms, from 2-hour workshops to university graduate classes.
