Dr. Harrison is a Professor of Counseling for the College of Education. Prior to that, he was the Associate Dean and the Chair of the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at UNR, coordinating the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. In addition to extensive clinical experience, Dr. Harrison is the Director of the Downing Counseling Clinic and has written books on substance abuse and consultation. He has provided consulting services to athletes and athletic teams including the University of Florida Gators and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack. His current research interests is focused on dialectical thinking and hopefulness.
