Summary
Lance Ledet is a lifelong advocate dedicated to securing disability rights and expanding equitable health access. As someone who suffers severe hearing loss as well as a spinal cord injury, Lance is a daily user of assistive technology. His lived experience has provided him with thorough knowledge of assistive technologies, both for his personal use as well as the role these technologies can play in the lives of others. To this end, Lance previously founded the Southern Nevada Chapter for the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) and served as the organization’s inaugural president. During this time, he served alongside fellow disability advocates as a member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Minority and Health Equity Alliance. Currently, Lance is an appointed member of the Assistive Technology Council for the State of Nevada’s Aging and Disability Service Division (ADSD), and he was appointed to serve as Council Chairman for the 2020-2022 Council session.
