Summary

Languages: Español (Castellano), American English

I am originally from Guatemala and I am the oldest of five siblings. I grew up in Guatemala away from my family because I didn't have migratory documents until I was a young adult. In Guatemala, I received a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management at Francisco Marroquín University. My specialization lies in project management for international cooperation, transnational logistics with third-world countries and administration of non-profit organizations. I am the co-founder of two non-profit organizations that provide nutritional and educational resources as well as medical programs to displaced populations to the people living in the rural east mountains of Jalapa, Guatemala.

Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree in World Languages and Literatures with a specialization in Spanish at the University of Nevada, Reno. I enjoy organizing family activities, going for hikes and having picnics. I always seek out new places to explore.

At the Latino Research Center I provide office support as well as translations and interpretations and I am being introduced to the field of research. I thrive in an active, positive and cooperative environment. I love working at the LRC as it allows me to help the community by providing them with the resources they seek. I am grateful to Dr. Jafeth Sánchez, Dr. Patricia Guerrero (soon to graduate), Dr. Wilfredo de Ràfols and Dr. Mar Inestrillas for guiding and assisting me in this wonderful journey at the University of Nevada, Reno
