Using the TurningPoint desktop app in the classroom

The TurningPoint desktop app (TurningPoint Classic) is installed in all the classrooms. You will need to log in to the app every time you use it. You also need to enable mobile access so students can join the session and participate in polling activities. Make sure you save the polling data to a flash drive or a network drive, or upload it to your cloud storage. Data will be lost if saved locally (on the classroom computer) upon daily reboot of the system.

Please follow the steps below to use TurningPoint for polling in class:

Log in to the computer, launch the TurningPoint app and log into your Turning account. On the TurningPoint dashboard, click the Enable button under Mobile Responses. On the pop-up window, click Start Session to generate a random session ID and share it with your students.

On the Dashboard, click the PowerPoint polling tile (or another polling feature). This will launch Microsoft PowerPoint. Open the PowerPoint presentation file. Start the presentation.

When you finish the presentation/lecture and polling, click the Save button under the TurningPoint tab and save the session. Make sure you save the session data on your own flash drive or network drive, or save to cloud storage (such as Nevada Box), then exit PowerPoint.
