Counseling Services offers part-time, ten month practicum positions. We provide comprehensive generalist training experience in university psychological services. Weekly structured didactic trainings are provided on clinical, professional, and diversity topics, and individual and group supervision is provided. Clinical responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, providing evaluations (intakes) and psychological assessment, and providing rotating on-call crisis coverage. Activities in prevention and outreach are also required. Special, focused ADHD testing rotations are available as opportunities become available.
- Must hold a bachelor's degree and be a clinical psychology doctoral candidate in an APA-accredited program in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or hold a bachelor's degree and be a candidate in a social work program from an accredited higher education institution
- Psychology practicum candidates must have successfully completed graduate level coursework in ethics, psychopathology, assessment of adults, and intervention with adults.
- Social work practicum candidate externs must have completed graduate level coursework in ethics.
- Previous training and experience working with culturally diverse populations.
