Summary

Wesley Kobashigawa is a Doctoral Psychology Intern from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Counseling Psychology Ph.D. Program. Wesley has clinical experience in a myriad of settings including community mental health with older adults and homeless veterans, at-risk youth in public high schools, sex-offenders in a minimum and medium security correctional center, patients in a rehabilitation hospital, college students in university counseling  and adolescents in a short term residential therapeutic program.

Wesley utilizes a humanistic, strengths-based approach when practicing psychotherapy. He emphasizes self-compassion and unconditional positive regard throughout his work, and tailors his approach to meet the unique needs of the clients he serves. Wesley has been a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California since 2016, but while with University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services, works under the license of his psychologist supervisors. Outside of his professional self, Wesley enjoys trout fishing and playing retro video games.
