2021 Commencement update
Dear 2021 Graduates and Families,
We are writing to update you on the University’s desire to recognize your academic achievement while at the same time complying with the health and safety directives due to the pandemic. As the University is required to follow federal, state, and county guidelines, it appears unlikely that large gatherings will be permitted this spring.
Taking into consideration your health and wellness as well as that of your families, we have begun planning a virtual Commencement Ceremony for all May 2021 graduates on Friday, May 14, 2021. This will include your individual recognition through the display of a photo and an audio of your name, similar to having your name read at an in-person ceremony. We are working diligently in the planning of your ceremony that will be accessible world-wide.
We will have many more details for you in the upcoming weeks but wanted to apprise you of these plans. We are aware that many of you and your families have been waiting to make travel arrangements. This will allow you to make plans accordingly and provide information to your families about viewing your graduation online. We know that you have many questions and we will be sending you additional information about the next steps. Urgent questions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congratulations on the earning of your degree. Along with your families, we are proud of you and your accomplishments.
Melisa Choroszy, Ph.D.
Associate Vice President, Enrollment Services and Director of Commencement
