Image Element

Image Element

The CMS system has an image element selector, which is separate from images within the XHTML elements. There are really only two parts of the image element that we need to worry about:

  • Image: Use the browse button at the far right to bring up the asset manager dialog box to select your image.
  • Alt Text: The alt text should be a short one-sentence description of the image. The alt text is very important in terms of accessibility issues and is discussed in the Accessibility: Image Alt Tags section.

The layout and spacing sections that are located under the Alt Text are ignored on the site so you do not need to worry about putting information into these sections. The size values (Width and Height) are automatically populated based on the image that you selected. Don’t change these values from the default values it provides. If you need to resize an image, do it with the asset manager instead.
