Protect Yourself in the Job Search

As You Job Hunt, Be Sure to Use Caution

Students should perform due diligence when offering, applying for, or accepting off-campus employment, as you are doing so at your own risk. It is unusual for an employer to request information from applicants such as tax, banking, or social security information or to send checks or payment prior to an interview, offer of employment, or work hours completed. The Career Studio urges students to exercise careful judgment when responding to employer inquires and to contact our office with questions or suspicions.
