New associate director of Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station
Chris A. Pritsos, an environmental toxicologist and biochemist, has been named Associate Dean for Research and Associate Director of Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station. Chris joined the University of Nevada, Reno as an assistant professor in 1985. He has developed an excellent teaching and research program that focuses on oxidative stresses in cancer research, second-hand smoking, along with human and wildlife exposures to environmental contaminates.
From 2000-2015, Chris served as chair for both Nutrition and Agriculture, Nutrition, & Veterinary Sciences departments. Chris also chairs the University Core Curriculum Capstone Committee and serves on UNR’s Research and Innovation Council. Chris is the recipient of several awards and recognitions and is very active in his discipline at the national level.
