Hello there! I grew up in Carson City, NV, where I lived until attending the University of Nevada, Reno, for my BSBA Management (Go Pack!). During my time on campus, I was involved in student programming, orientation, as well as sorority life. I did not intend on being a business major when starting college, but the different opportunities I had while on campus led me towards the management field. I found that the professional skills taught in class were both interesting and relatable to real-world experiences.

After graduation, I went on to travel as a leadership consultant for my sorority’s national headquarters. Traveling to a new college campus every four to five days confirmed my passion for meeting new people and working with students from all backgrounds. After that year, I began my M.Ed. in Student Affairs program at Iowa State University (Go State!), where I gained experiences in academic coaching, sorority and fraternity life recruitment and large-scale student programming.

Since my graduate program, I have worked in both the higher education and human resources fields. I enjoy both because they allow me to support people through important stages of their lives, whether that be deciding on a major or starting a new job. Currently, a lot of my role involves recruitment of new students and transitioning them into their first semester of college during BizFIT. You may often catch me at our recruitment events throughout the year, so please be sure to say hi!

My biggest tip for anyone in college is to be proactive, ask questions and keep an open mind to new experiences. There are countless resources available to you, and your advisor is here to help you navigate them. So, ask questions to ensure your understanding, and if you’re approached with a new opportunity, I encourage you to see where it will take you!

Fun facts:

  • I have two cats and a ridiculous amount of plants (both in my office and at home).
  • I love camping and exploring the northern Nevada region.
  • I will chat you up about all things sourdough!
