Accounting

The Accounting Unit prepares graduates for rewarding accounting and professional careers. Our educational programs furnish the solid knowledge base and conceptual infrastructure our graduates will need to make immediately valuable and lasting contributions as business professionals in a global economy.

Information Systems

A degree in Information Systems not only gives graduates the ability to understand and manage current and emerging information systems, but also confers excellent technical management and communications skills. A background in Information Systems allows for a higher-level understanding of how different computer systems can talk and interface with each other - and thus facilitate and foster the spread of knowledge and ideas.

Economics

The Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno is an “idea place,” and seeks to become an increasingly creative and valuable resource as it conducts teaching, research, and service activities. The Department of Economics boasts an extensive roster of accomplished faculty and researchers. Specialties of the department include commercial gaming and natural resource economics.

Finance

Designed for students who are interested in working in the financial sector or who would like a more financially-oriented business education, the finance department offers both a B.S. and an M.S. in Finance. A study in finance prepares students for professional careers in fields such as corporate financial management, investment banking, business consulting and portfolio analysis and management.

Management

The Management Department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees based on curricula that allow students to develop knowledge and applied skills related to the four managerial activities of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The Management faculty consists of dedicated and mission-driven faculty members prepare students for careers in areas such as organizational behavior, strategic management, human resource management, entrepreneurship and international business.

Marketing

Marketing is a dynamic, exciting and critical component of business. At its core, marketing is the creation, communication and exchange of value for stakeholders, including society at large. Marketing is the "outward-facing" business discipline that builds and manages relationships with customers, suppliers and partners.

College-Wide Programs

This department is home to those programs that span the College of Business, drawing on the expertise of many specialized faculty to provide a comprehensive business education. Programs include the MBA and Executive MBA, an extensive International Business degree that offers numerous language tracks and foci, a General Business program and a Minor in Gaming Management.
