Accounting & Information Systems

Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Business are housed within one department. The Department of Accounting and Information Systems combines the expertise of professional accounting with the knowledge of technology-based information systems. A benefit of this arrangement is that there are ample opportunities to engage in an education that straddles the boundaries of the regular Accounting and Information Systems degree programs.

The department is home to three bachelors and two masters degrees, including the combined Accounting and Information Systems major.

The Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno is an “idea place,” and seeks to become an increasingly creative and valuable resource as it conducts teaching, research, and service activities. The Department of Economics boasts an extensive roster of accomplished faculty and researchers. Specialties of the department include commercial gaming and natural resource economics.

The department offers two undergraduate degree programs, two master’s degree programs, a Ph.D. program, and its minor.

Managerial Sciences

The Managerial Sciences Department contains programs in finance, management and marketing. Such a breadth of opportunities affords students the ability to focus on their principle interest, while also being a part of a conversation that touches upon all elements of the business spectrum.

College-Wide Programs

This department is home to those programs that span the College of Business, drawing on the expertise of many specialized faculty to provide a comprehensive business education. Programs include the MBA and Executive MBA, an extensive International Business degree that offers numerous language tracks and foci, a General Business program and a Minor in Gaming Management.
