Begoña Aretxaga Travel Stipend
The Begoña Aretxaga Travel Stipend, in the amount of $1,500, was named in honor of Begoña Aretxaga, esteemed colleague and advisory board member of the Center, who passed away in 2002. The stipends were conceived to facilitate travel for scholars with an interest in Basque studies to come to Reno to conduct research. Preference is given to researchers coming during the academic year (September to December and January to May).
To apply, interested people should send a research proposal of 1,200 words (two pages) to email@example.com by March 15. Please include Aretxaga Travel Stipend in the subject line. Duration of stay will be determined by the recipient, but it is assumed that it will be at least one month. Typically two stipends are awarded annually, but this may vary from resources from year to year. For further information, please contact the Center.
The center also provides two undergraduate scholarships annually. Both are part of the University of Nevada, Reno scholarship pool, and so are part of the general Undergraduate Scholarship Application located in the supplemental forms on MyNevada. More specific information on these scholarships is provided here.
