Joseph Squier is trained as a studio artist – a photographer and a painter – and holds an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. His creative research is situated at the intersection of art and technology. He has exhibited extensively throughout the world and been featured in numerous national newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Print Magazine, and has had work reproduced in over a dozen books. Squier's practice has been supported by numerous grants, including the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rockefeller Foundation. He is a founding editor/curator of Ninth Letter, a visual culture and literary journal that the LA Times has described as "wildly, perfectly beautiful."
