The University of Nevada, Reno offers application fee deferrals for first-time freshman only. The University does not accept fee waivers, including fee waivers from the College Board or any other third parties. If you would like to be considered for an application fee deferral, please review the information below.
How to apply for an application deferral
There is a three-step process to apply for an application deferral, including asking for an application deferral form, completing an online application for admissions and submitting required documentation to the University.
Below is a description of each step you need to complete.
Step 1: Complete the application fee deferral form
Send an email to email@example.com with the subject line "Application fee deferral form" to be included with your application submission.
Step 2: Complete and submit your online application for admissions
You must apply for admissions online as part of the application fee deferral process. Complete each section of the Domestic Undergraduate First-Year application, including the Application Review. Click the “Finalize Application and Pay” button/link, but do not submit payment.
Application fee deferrals are only available to first-time first-year students.
Step 3: Submit supporting documentation
In addition to your application, you must also submit one of the following documentation to the Office of Admissions & Records at the University:
- A copy of the student's parent's or guardian's most recent tax return
- A letter from a high school counselor that indicates the student is on a free or reduced lunch program
