Reynolds, journalist and businessman, whose interest and contributions helped transform the university's journalism program from a department to a school. RSJ, with its distinctive atrium, is home to a faculty that has helped produce six Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists. The Travis Linn Reading Room, named in honor of the late Reynolds School dean Travis Linn and located on the first floor of the building, plays host to the school’s annual “Lighting of the Hearth” event each fall semester, where students, faculty, alumni and friends gather to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year. Barbara Colbert-Trainor graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1993 and has worked on campus since then. She has worked for the Reynolds School of Journalism since August 2003 and was initially hired as the assistant to the dean but is now the school’s business and events officer. She oversees all financial, administrative and event functions for the school. Her favorite quote is “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” ~Sir Winston Churchill~
