Faculty Resources

Faculty resources The Writing Center serves the University community. The primary focus of the UWC is to directly support student writing. This cannot be accomplished fully without supporting faculty and staff who are assigning, collecting, and evaluating student writing on campus. Let us help you to help your students toward the most effective writing possible. Feel free to contact either Bill Macauley or Maureen McBride if you have questions, would like to set up a workshop for your class, or would like to discuss further how the UWC can support your teaching, your students' learning, and the writing your students are asked and expected to complete.

In-Class Student Writing Workshops

* To familiarize your students with writing resources available at the University Writing Center, please schedule an office tour with Annette Cooper.

Professional Organizations

We also encourage professional development by getting involved in and presenting at various writing center conferences. The University of Nevada, Reno's Writing Center is a member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Writing Centers Association, and many of our former tutors stay in touch through the Peer Writing Tutor Alumni Research Project.
