Program on Helen J. Stewart Offered at
NWHP Southern Region's meeting


Location of NWHP-So. Region's Saturday, March 2nd luncheon meeting was Marie Callender's Restaurant, 4800 South Eastern in the Garden Room. President Dr. Linda Miller called the meeting to order at noon. So. Region Board member Doris Drummond led the Pledge; the inspirational thought was presented by President Miller.

Guests, acknowledged by Vice President Mary Gafford, included Carol Cohen's daughters Florence and Leslie, as well as Valerie Guillory, Nancy Jangl, Karen Lampus, and Acanora Mashkan.

Members who have recently joined So. Region were introduced. They include Kay Miller Browne, Margie Conway, Norma Price, Marge Rea, and Barbara Senninger..BettyMiller, board member in charge of membership, noted dues now are due. So. Region Treasurer Su Kim Chung stated that 41 persons were attending the luncheon.

program offeredAfter a delightful lunch and PIE, Helen Mortenson from Friends of Old Mormon Fort gave an informative program on the life of Helen J. Stewart. Among attentive attendees was former NWHP State President Joan LeMere. Also attending were Marlene Adrian, Bette Ault, Dorothy Bokelmann, Carol Cohen, Gwen Den Dooven, Alice Eubank, Bernice Fisher, Sandy Frank, Dr. Patricia Geuder, Mary Ann Hantout, Susan Houston, Patricia McNutt, Mollie Murphy, Beverly O'Connor, past So. Region President Jane Olive, Mimi Rodden, Nancy Sansone, Stina Schloss, Jean Spiller, Sally Wathen, and Blanche Zucker. After the very informative program, all attendees had a revived respect for one of the pioneer women of Nevada: Helen J. Stewart.
