Diversity on Campus
The university has resolved to reflect and respect the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the citizens of Nevada in its academic programs, support programs, and in the composition of its faculty, administration, staff and student body.
Dr. Michael Coray, Special Assistant to the President on Diversity, is responsible for developing and implementing campus-wide diversity initiatives. In accordance with this charge, there are six committees under this office. Each of the diversity related committees welcomes and encourages participation from all segments of the university community--students, staff and faculty. The sole criterion for participation or membership on the diversity committees is support for, or interest in, the purpose of the respective committee.
In addition to the campus-wide committees mentioned below, the university strategic planning process has identified diversity related initiatives by many of the university's Vice Presidents, Deans and Directors at the division and unit levels.
