VISION

The Department of Human Resources is seen as a value-added department providing state of the art HR programs, streamlined processes and HR best practices while using robust technology. The department exhibits the highest level of excellence in all aspects of serving the present and prospective members of the faculty and staff we support.

MISSION STATEMENT

Human Resources recognizes that University of Nevada, Reno faculty and staff are a valuable asset to the university community.  We are committed to supporting the goals of the colleges and departments by providing all employees with excellent service, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, leadership, innovation, knowledge, efficiency, honesty, and respect.

DEPARTMENT CORE VALUES

I              Integrity:   Honesty, application of ethical actions that reflect professional standards and acting respectfully when working with customers and with each other. Following through and meaning what we say.

L            Leadership: Achieving the goals of our customers by effectively guiding, mentoring, and directing them while consistently maintaining a network of two-way communication. Enhancing the programs and processes of HR by incorporating innovation, integrity, and a high level of competence in the work we do.

I                Innovation:   Being creative and open to change while contributing and executing new ideas.

K                Knowledge:   Ensuring a complete and thorough understanding of the work we do and the ability and willingness to communicate that information in an understandable way. Continue to expand our knowledge to better serve our customers.

E                Efficiency:   Getting the job done in the most efficient way possible by maintaining good time management, identifying problems or necessary tasks to be completed using all available resources, and acquired expertise to meet desired goals and produce the appropriate outcome.

H                Honesty:   Displaying integrity; being sincere and forthcoming, while respecting those we serve and each other.

R                Respect:  Acknowledgement and confidence that we do the best that we can do to serve our customers, and to support each other. We practice the "golden rule".
