BCN Payroll
The Payroll office is located in Ross Hall room 102 on the University of Nevada, Reno campus or at 784-4146.
The Payroll Office is responsible for the rendering of payroll payments to all employees of the university and for ensuring the payments are accurate, valid, authorized, timely and in compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing payrolls. BCN Payroll produces payroll checks for the following NSHE campuses: University of Nevada, Reno, NSHE Administration, Truckee Meadows Community College, Desert Research Institute, Western Nevada College, and Great Basin College.
The Payroll Office is also responsible for maintaining employee pay records; withholding and depositing federal payroll taxes; paying employer taxes; retirement contributions, health, and other insurance premiums; state unemployment and workmen’s compensation claims; withholding and paying employee retirement contributions and voluntary employee deductions; completing required government forms and reports; and posting of payroll charges; encumbrances to the financial accounting system; additions, changes or deletions of voluntary payroll deductions with the exception of retirement and health insurance deductions. Retirement and health insurance deductions are maintained by the Benefits Department (775)784-1496.
The Payroll Office makes all payroll related tax deposits and files all payroll related tax returns as well as producing employees annual W-2s. Payroll updates all (W-4), (W-5), Name and Address changes. Payroll also maintains direct deposit information for additions, changes or deletions.
The Payroll Office is also responsible the distribution of time sheets and the entry of University of Nevada, Reno time sheets.

Forms and Instructions:
- Hourly and Overtime Form (PDF) - This form is used for classified, technical, or hourly paid employees, including overtime. It also contains a daily log for department wishing to maintain a daily record of hours worked.
- Direct Deposit Form (Word) - This forms instructs Payroll to electronically deposit payroll funds into an employee's checking or savings account(s). This form is also used if there is a change to the direct deposit or to stop the direct deposit.

- 2008 Time Sheet Cut Off Dates (Excel)- Dates in which paperwork is due in order for the employee's check to be included within the next pay date.

- Stop Payment (Word) - Stop payment form for a BCN Payroll check.
- FARP (Word) - FICA Alternative Retirement Plan. This plan was established for NSHE employees who do not participate in another retirement plan NSHE and who or would contribute to FICA tax.
- FICA Enrollment Form - Continuing Employees (Word) - Federal Insurance Contributions Act. NSHE implemented an alternative plan for continuing employees administered by the State's Deferred Compensation Committee for employees who would typically contribute to the FICA portion of Social Security.
