Payment Deadlines

Pay your fees at the Cashier's Office located on the third floor of the Student Services Building.

Registration Fees

Undergraduate nonresidents enrolled in one through six credits use the following formula:

{(number of credits x registration fee) + (number of credits x nonresident tuition per credit)}

Example: a nonresident undergraduate enrolled for one credit: {(1 x 120.75) + (1 x 128.50)} = $249.25

 

Undergraduate nonresidents enrolled in seven or more credits use the following formula:

{(number of credits x registration fee) + (flat rate nonresident tuition per credit)}

Example: a nonresident undergraduate student enrolled in seven credits:{(7 x 120.75) + ($5,405.00} = $6,250.25

Good Neighbor Reduced Nonresident Tuition

Undergraduate students: $249.25 per credit

Graduate students: $365.75 per credit

This charge is assessed at one credit and above. Residents of the following approved Good Neighbor counties may be eligible for this reduced nonresident tuition benefit: Mohave County in Arizona; and Alpine, El Dorado, Inyo, Lassen, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Bernardino, and Sierra counties in California. Children of Alumni Reduced Nonresident Tuition

Undergraduate students: $70.00 per credit

Children of University of Nevada, Reno alumni who graduated with a bachelor's degree, and who reside outside the state of Nevada, are eligible for this reduced nonresident tuition benefit when enrolling in undergraduate studies at the university. This charge is in addition to the per-credit registration fees (listed in the "Costs" section) and is assessed when enrolled for seven or more credits.

WUE Reduced Nonresident Tuition

Undergraduate students: $181.13 per credit

Students who are admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno under the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program pay 150% of the in-state registration fees ($120.75 per credit plus $60.38)

Senior Citizen Discounts

Students 62 years of age or older may register without paying per-credit registration fees. Special course fees, nonresident tuition (if applicable) and deposits are not waived. Senior citizen registration does not entitle a person to any privileges usually associated with registration, such as student association membership, health service, or intercollegiate athletic tickets.

Paying Fees and Room and Board

You will receive a bill and it will reflect your registration record, room and board charges as of Dec 26, 2007. You should receive this bill during the first week of January.

If you register or make changes after Dec 26, 2007 you will not receive an adjusted bill. To check your account balance, point your web browser to: http://www.unr.edu, click on ePAWS, and follow the appropriate links.

Your Mailing Address

Make sure the Office of Admissions and Records has your correct address on file. You may change your address on ePAWS.

Late Fees

Payment is due Jan 18, 2008 the Friday before classes begin. It is the last day to pay without late fees of $25.00 per day ($250.00 maximum).

If you are registering or paying for classes (one or more credits) from Jan 22 - Jan 31, 2008, you will be assessed late fees.

You may also drop off your payment in the fee payment drop box in the Fitzgerald Student Services Building. Pay your fees by Friday Jan 18, 2008 to avoid late fee charges.

If you do not pay your fees by Jan 31, 2008:

The final date for fee payment (with late charges) is 5:00 p.m. Jan 31, 2008.

If you decide not to attend, please drop all your classes Jan 31, 2008 using ePAWS to avoid the $250.00 no-show fee.

Payment Options

Fee Receipts

Not necessary for ID card validation, parking permits or other university privileges. Your ID card is validated after payments have been posted to your account.

Go to the Cashier's Office if you need a fee receipt. To avoid waiting in line for a receipt, requests should be made after Jan 31, 2008.

Fee Holds

Fee holds are outstanding financial obligations to the university. You must clear all fee holds before you register or request official transcripts. Clear your account at the Cashier's Office (775) 784-6915.

Deferred Payment

You may choose a deferred fee payment plan if you have registered for seven credits or more. To select the deferred payment plan, log in to ePAWS and select the account and billing option.

Refund Policies

Dropping Individual Classes: 

Total Withdrawal From the 2008 Spring Semester:

An exit interview is required for total withdrawals from the 2008 Spring Semester completed after Mar 16, 2008. Please call (775) 784-6326 to schedule an exit interview.

NOTE: To be eligible for a refund check, whether at 100% or 50%, you must have paid tuition and fees in full.

Your payments for special course fees are 100% refundable if you drop courses by Jan 31, 2008. Special course fee refunds after Jan 31, 2008 are at the discretion of the offering department.

Exit Interview for Graduating Loan Recipients

Graduating students who have the following types of loans are required by law to have an exit interview:

Students with Perkins Loans, Nursing Student Loans, Gravey Rhodes, Blundell or Health Profession Loans should contact the Loan Department, on the third floor of the Student Services Building or call (775) 784-6095 to schedule an exit interview.

Graduating students with Stafford Loans should contact The Office of Student Financial Aid, Employment, and Scholarship, Student Services Building, room 319, or call (775) 784-4666 to schedule exit interviews.

If you register or make changes to your registration after Dec 26, 2007, you will not receive an adjusted bill in the mail. Use the account balance inquiry function in ePAWS to determine the amount owed.
