ELIGIBILITY

Students are eligible for services if they are determined by the Director of the TRIO Scholars Program to have need for the program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents AND fall into ANY of the following categories:

    • First-Generation College Student:
      Parents or custodial parents do not have a bachelor's degree

      OR

    • Income Eligible: (February/2007 ED For entry into program during 2007-2008 acadmic year)
      Your household taxable income falls within one of the following categories:   
      • Self Only, Less Than $15,315.00 
      • 2 Members, Less Than $20,535.00 
      • 3 Members, Less Than $25,755.00 
      • 4 Members, Less Than $30,975.00 
      • 5 Members, Less Than $36,195.00 
      • 6 Members, Less Than $41,415.00 
      • 7 Members, Less Than $46,635.00 
      • 8 Members, Less Than $51,855.00 

    *Note: If you are under the age of 24, you are considered a dependent and the University will use your parents' income to determine your financial status. Exceptions are made for married undergraduates, undergraduates with dependent children, and students who are wards of the court.

     

    Many students who are receiving a Pell Grant may also be eligible for the TRIO Scholars Program.
