Transfer Recruitment Coordinator
A native Nevadan, Emm has been involved in the Nevada community being raised on the Walker River Paiute Indian Reservation and is an active member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe. Emm started at the University as the Outreach and Retention Coordinator for the Center for Student Cultural Diversity. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in political science and her Master of Arts degree from University of Phoenix in Organizational Management. Before working for the University Emm spent three years as a Public Affairs Specialist and Special Emphasis Program Manager for American Indians at the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Christy Abercrombie: Las Vegas
Transfer Recruitment Coordinator, Southern Nevada and Southern California
Christy is a Las Vegas native whose grandparents settled in the valley in 1929. Christy is a new addition to the University of Nevada, Reno as is the position of S. Nevada and S. California Transfer Coordinator. Prior to her taking this position, Christy was the Assistant Director of Admission and Transfer Coordinator for Muskingum University in Ohio for fifteen years. Christy received her first Master of Arts degree from Miami University in History and Art History and her second Master of Arts degree from New Mexico State University in Sociology, with a focus on Higher Education.
