Kari EmmTransfer Recruitment Coordinator
A native Nevadan, Emm has been involved in the Nevada community being raised on the Walker River Paiute Indian Reservation and is an active member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe. Emm started at the University as the Outreach and Retention Coordinator for the Center for Student Cultural Diversity. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in political science and her Master of Arts degree from University of Phoenix in Organizational Management. Before working for the University Emm spent three years as a Public Affairs Specialist and Special Emphasis Program Manager for American Indians at the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Tya Raenise Mathis: Las VegasTransfer Recruitment Coordinator, Las Vegas
Tya Raenise Mathis was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is a proud product of the Clark County School District and the Nevada System of Higher Education. She received her Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno and she received her Master of Public Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2007).
Thanks to her parents, giving back to her community is an important part of her foundation. She feels privileged to work for an institution with the same values as her own. As the Senior Admissions and Transfer Coordinator for the University of Nevada, Reno she focuses on educating students and their families on the importance of higher education.
