The purpose of Women Without Borders is to bring together diverse voices to take part and organize discussions, community service projects, political activism and campus events that promote and support the culturally varied experiences of campus women. In order to accomplish this, we are committed to creating and maintaining a campus and community that actively recognizes and affirms the diverse realities of women at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Women Without Border’s projects include Take Back the Night, an event to raise awareness of violence against women, documentary film screenings and discussions, a winter coat drive and many other community service projects.
For the spring semester 2008, WWB will meet every Monday night at 7pm in The Center for Student Cultural Diversity. We plan to take part in the Center’s Minority Health Fair in April, become trained as ESL tutors, take part in the International Women’s Day celebration on campus, and we are looking forward to our spring social to be held in April.
