- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or equivalent over the last two years of undergraduate study is required.
- The GRE is not required for admission.
- Candidates whose native language is not English must have a TOEFL score of 550 or above.
- Candidates who are native speakers of English must have a minimum of 2 years
of a foreign language at the college level or an equivalent language experience.
The equivalent second language proficiency must be verified by a foreign language
instructor of that language at the college level. English will satisfy this
requirement for non-native speakers of English.
The language requirement
may be pursued concurrently with the master's program, but credits taken to fulfill it do not count towards the degree.
- An undergraduate major or minor in a relevant field (English, linguistics, education, or a modern language other than English) is desirable but not required.
- Under special circumstances, at the discretion of the program
director, students may be admitted under a prescribed program. Once admitted, students are assigned an advisor.
- There are no deadlines.
Applications accepted year-round.
