Thailand Experience
This site is a wonderful introduction to the opportunities, different locations and much more that is offered in
Thailand. It links to TESOL, and TELF training programs as well as teaching placement. There are many different
areas where teachers are needed; the site also includes prices, cultural events, and payment. cc 2006.

This site offers a program that will be paid for initially by the applicant to be trained, by taking a TESOL course
there for 4 weeks as well as courses in Thai culture. It then offers guaranteed job placement afterwards. The site
offers information on pay as well as a breakdown of living expenses, pay, and what the program provides. cc 2003.
Global Crossroads
This site was a little different from the rest. Instead of offering a job position, it is more of a volunteer type
of thing. The duration is shorter about 3- 12 weeks, and no expenses are paid for. This would be a program that
would just give a little insight into the culture and rack up some volunteer hours. cc 2003-2006.
Transitions Abroad
This is a great site that offers articles written by people who have gone to Thailand to teach. It is also the
perfect site because it offers links to other web pages that offer jobs, and programs to go teach abroad. While
it does not offer as much information on Thailand, it does offer a lot of other sources for that information

This page offers a lot of important information that many people would probably ask when going to Thailand. It
lists the schools, and how much the pay hourly, and monthly. It also gives extensive information on legal paperwork.

This is a good informational site on the cost of living because it breaks things down, it give examples of how much
food should cost as well as the cost of living and what you can get for that. It also lists some of the opportunities

This site gives many links to other sites to give information to people who are looking to go to Thailand to teach.

This is a page that is basically a guide page for people who are looking to have a job as a teacher in a foreign
country. It is mostly a first hand account answering typical questions, however it is a good insight into what can
be expected as a teacher in Thailand. It includes information on how to live better and what kind of conditions for

This site is a type of program that is offered and places teachers in different areas throughout Thailand as well as
other countries. It gives information on pay and housing which is provided via the school and the types of classroom
conditions that should be expected while teaching there. Though pay and information varies by site most is similar
because this group organizes it.

This site is also a program that is set up in Thailand and offers guaranteed job placement prior to leaving, minimum
pay, and a place to live. It also talks about reimbursement for airfare and the requirements for teaching English in
Thailand. There is also a link to an online application from this site.

This site is a place that gives a firsthand account of living in Thailand and teaching there as well. It gives
information on the pay and what it will be like to live in Thailand. It also provides links to many places with
information on job opportunities, paperwork that needs to be done and anything else that needs to be done to teach

This is a site that does not offer that much information on how to obtain a job but it does provide some information on
the type of pay that can be expected, type of workday at this particular school. There is some information on living
options and it points out that a good investment would be a bicycle.

This site is great because it gives some information as to the distance between places so that you have some idea as to
how far away everything is. It also gives links for things like living costs Training, and teaching positions. It
provides a huge amount of information on anything that you would want to know about Thailand, and then provides links
for anything you would want to know about teaching in Thailand.
Cost of Living in Thailand
This is a nice site because it gives a good comparison on some of the different teachers who have lived in Thailand
and how much they make and spend. This is a good reference because it gives a good idea of what money might be like
for you on a monthly basis depending on what type of spending you have.
Fast Track Teaching Jobs Teach English in Thailand
This site again offers a lot of information on pay and living conditions in Thailand. It is a good source of
information and it provides a lot of pictures that are also interesting to look at. This site also provides some

This is a nice place to have once you decide to go to Thailand to work. It is a kind of classifieds page that offers
the listings of available teaching positions in Thailand. It lists pay, and what qualifications are required to teach

This site gives a lot of information on the type of educational system that is offered in Thailand, and will give an
idea as to the type of schedule that you will have to go through as a teacher while you are there. It will also give

This site has everything that you need to know about Thailand including culture and people as well as information on a
TEFL program that teaches about the culture and then places you in a job immediately following. It also has information

This is a package deal where they set you up with a school and guarantee pay and other important details they reimburse
you at the end of your stay for flight costs and lists the types of requirements needed to teach and live in Thailand
Teach Abroad
This is also through a program the site tells you how much you are going to be paid and what the conditions are going
to be like for you there. This is a nice program because it has a phone interview so that you know you have a job before
you go. It also lists necessary qualifications and other important information for the job
Work and Travel Abroad Teach in Thailand
This is another program site that offers much of the accommodations for one lump price. Yet pay is still about the same
with means that a lot more money can be made through this program. It also provides information on the type of
certification and visa needed, as well as a link to apple on line for this program.

This site offers a large amount of information about the pay, size of classes, and benefits that are received
through this program it also includes a trip in part of the pay. It also gives a little bit of information on
obtaining a visa before you leave.
Teaching and Living in Thailand
This site gives a lot of useful information on what can be expected in Thailand as a foreign teacher, not only
in the classroom but out. It lists information like class size to the type of dress expected form a teacher, as
well as the culture that will be encountered outside of class.
Teaching Abroad
This site offers some information on a summer program that sets up with everything including pay, and guarantees
that whom ever you work for sets you up with housing and guarantees a bonus or flight reimbursement depending on

This site offers again some good information on pay to work as an English teacher in Thailand including the type
of dress that is expected once in the classroom. It also talks about the type of food that it there and what kind
of culture you should plan on experiencing.
TEFL Jobs Abroad
This site offers information on the I-to-I program that places English teaching is Thailand along with many other
countries. This site offers information on the accreditation of the program as well as an expected salary, and type

This site is another program that lists essential requirements for teaching in Thailand but also warns of low pay
that can be expected while teaching there. It had a lot of links to countries around the world so that no matter where you are planning on going you could go to this site to look for information on that particular place.
Paid Teaching Jobs
This site is also a program that is offered which for a fee before you go sets you up with a place to live a
guaranteed job visa advice and more. It gives information on the size of the class and the type of pay for that
position. It also boasts that you will be able to experience Thai culture while you are there.
Positions Available for Experienced Teachers
This is another program site that offers guaranteed pay and placement in a position once you are there. They also
help with visa information and obtaining one. This site offers a lot of links that allow you to contact them as
well and background information on the culture and even photographs
Passport Express
This is a site that offers a lot of information on passports as well as has many links to get visas in other
countries so that you can get it all done in one place. This is a helpful site also because all you have to do
is send in your information and the people on the site will go get everything done for you in case there is no

Thailand Visa
This is another site that has a lot of information on obtaining different kinds of visas for visiting other
countries and for working in other countries. While most of the sites that I found had information on how to
get a visa through the program, this would be a good site have if that type of set up is not available. cc 2004.

This is actually a really useful site because it lists some of the top sites about living and teaching in Thailand.
While I have already listed all the sites in this bibliography, this would be a useful site because all of these
sites offer really important information on pay, living, visas, and classroom expectations. cc 2003- 2006.

This site is not specific to Thailand, but gives links to other sites that give good information about living in
another country, as well as the conditions that you will have to deal with while living there. These sites give
information on pay, classes, as well as personal accounts.
Thai Culture
This site gives a great amount of information on the culture of the people and the culture that is in the schools
in Thailand. This is a great site because it gives an idea of what to expect once you get there so that you arent
surprised.
International Education Media
This is a great site that has many links to other sites to find out information on all of the schools that are
listed in Thailand. This is a great site because it really helps in understanding the culture and the ways in
which school is run.
Thai Blogs
This site is more of a personal account page about the type of cultural experiences that can be expected while
living and working in Thailand. This site is a good help to understanding some of the cultural differences.
TEFL International Country Guide
This site gives a lot of information on the cultural differences of teaching abroad. It also gives a lot of
links to specify countries to where you would think about teaching. This is a great site because it has all the

Living, Teaching and Surviving in Thailand
This site is not a formal site. It is a posting site, however it is a site that has a lot of information on
living through culture shock in Thailand and what cultural differences can be expected while living and teaching

Development and Reform
This site, while basically a bunch of legalities, has a lot of information on the type of school system that
it trying to be reformed in Thailand. This could be of a lot of help while teaching there to get a better
understanding of the culture and their ideas of teaching.
Travel to Teach - Thailand
This is another site that offers more of a volunteer program than a paid teaching program for a prolonged period.
It is only a few weeks but it could be good to get a feel of what to expect before committing yourself to a year
long program. It also offers a lot of information on the type of school system and culture in place in Thailand.
International Study Programs
This is a kind of exchange site that would be useful for a student who would be looking to learn how to teach as
well as spend some time in another country. This again may be a good idea before committing to a yearlong program.

This is another site that offers some options to teach in Thailand. It offers information on volunteering,
internships, and being hired for long-term programs to teach in Thailand. This is a good site because it gives
information on classes, and culture as well.

so that you can get and idea of the things that you should expect while living there. This site also has links to
a number of other sites in different areas around the world.
Thailand Life - Impressions of an English Teacher
This was a personal account of living and teaching in Thailand. However it gave a lot of information on the type
of class situations that could be expected while teaching there. It also provided information on the lifestyle
that you could live on the pay as well as the culture of people there.
