Direct link to review the book Teaching English in Asia: Finding a Job and Doing it Well. The book
seems to be well received as a great guide for the dos and donts of teaching English abroad.
Any Work Anywhere
A colorful website, jobs are listed directly here. Just type where you would like to go, and what it is you
want to do (teach English) and it will come up with what is available through their system. Dont give up after
checking here, because there is an obvious limit on what is available.
UCI International Opportunities Program
Lists many website links for teaching English abroad and ESL programs. Rates the most popular sites for job
search and certification in order of their helpfulness. Navigate through the site to find opportunities to
volunteer abroad, participate in research projects or get involved with an internship.
Daves ESL Café and ESL Café
A fun site if you are "hungry" for information! Daves "menu" includes job boards, postings
and a place to post your resume. There are teacher forums and idea shares to make your English teaching more fun
and interesting. English students can enjoy the site as well by logging on and clicking on "stuff for
students". There is also a student forum to discuss those bothersome English grammar inconsistencies!
Is a hard copy better for your teaching abroad research? Dave has a bookstore too. Like most ESL websites,
you can find plenty of TEFL training courses.
English International. Information & Advice on Teaching English Overseas
Run by Jeff Mohamed, the author of Teaching English Overseas: A TEFL Jobs Guide. Highlight is the
extensive information about training options and educational programs available to prepare to teach English
overseas. Resources section includes links to other valuable key websites. Also offers an opportunity to
test your knowledge of English grammar.
English Teachers Free Recruiting - Job, Resume and Consulting Market
As the title suggests, this is a free recruiting job database offering job listings and an opportunity to
post resumes online. Highlight is that a candidate receives an email for positions that their visa and citizenship
allows them to apply. Candidates are found rapidly, often within 24-hours of a job being posted.
English Teaching
There is more teaching information on this website for those interested in jobs within the US. Although they
list international job search engines, these are listed with relation to the language school that sponsors the
career search. If you have not received TEFL or TESOL certification, perhaps this is the place to look.
English to Go
Resources for Teachers site provides resources such as lesson plans and teaching supplements for teachers on the
go who are looking to supplement or enhance their lessons.
Teach English Abroad
Useful links to sites related to TESOL. Perhaps the most interesting feature is the Myths and Mysteries section
that cover some valuable ideas and misconceptions about teaching English overseas.
English Club
ESL network providing resources to learn and teach ESL. The ESL Teachers Lounge lists international job postings,
provides an ESL teacher forum and lesson plans. Resources section provides links to other websites which provide
additional information on teaching English jobs.
English Job Maze
Job database. Search for jobs or post your resume. Highlight is the website provides extensive information about
the country of choice, living conditions and working conditions. Offers the Top 10 Jobs and Top 10 Destinations.
Perhaps the most helpful feature on the site is the "Interview Grammar Questions" section that can help
you nail those difficult questions asked in an EFL/ESL job interview. If the site does not help you find the job
of your dreams it also has a "Ways to Supplement Your Teaching Income" section.
ESL24.com
Links to a variety of EFL/ESL/TEFL/TESL websites. Areas of particular interest include job postings and teacher
training. Highlights include teaching resources covering lesson plans and a teacher forum, as well as travel
guides for various regions.
ESL Base
Current links to TESL and TEFL courses and job opportunities, exams, forums and blogs. One of the most useful
tools in this site is the Language School directory. Another wonderful thing about this site is its English
grammar page. You can select on a point that is a challenge for you to teach, and it will give you a lesson
on that particular grammar rule! The site offers an extensive database of ESL resources including teaching
ideas, worksheets and classroom activities.
ESL Café

ESL Career
You will need to join this site in order to obtain your username and password. With this access the site
offers resume posting and several links to TESOL websites. There are almost 9,000 job listings for Asia here to peruse.
ESL Depot
Many resources for teaching English. Numerous interactive games as well as ESL software, ESL books and
downloadable information for the ESL teacher.
ESL Employment - The ESL/EFL Job and Employment Resource Site
Job search, resume posting and teachers forum. Highlight of this website are the numerous ESL articles for
teachers and administrators with accounts of teaching English overseas. Also provides a section containing
the latest news in the ESL and EFL world.
ESL Job Project
ESL Job Project Offers many of the important things an ESL site should contain including a clear and detailed
job search section so that you can find the ideal job you are looking for. Offers a "Buy'N'Sell"
classified section for new and used items while you are overseas.
ESL Plaza
Check out the listings on the home page at Ellies. There are hundreds of job postings. Now, Ellie doesnt provide
an "advanced search" or "select a country" option, so you will have to scroll. This is a fun
website and search engine that includes anecdotes and advice, forums and job postings. You can post your resume.
There is a sign-in fee, however plenty of jobs are posted on the home page with email addresses and other contact
information. The fee covers processing of things like Banner advertising, resume sharing, and chat room set-up.
ESL Job Center
Listings for international jobs, mostly in Asia. Schools and websites that seek out employees are listed with the
date they are posted. Each contact includes a note stating how many other listings there are under that particular
website. An interesting aspect of this search engine website is the small box in the left corner that displays
real-time ESL jobs that are available across the website. There are over 9,000 ESL teaching positions available
throughout Asia, and only 3,000 resumes are on file. Why not post yours?
ESL Job Feed
Claims to be the most broad-based search engines of its kind. Links are made with other career listing websites
such as Monster.com, Craigs List, and Yahoo! HotJobs. Schools range from public to private, primary to University.
ESL Job Hawk
Another website that features a book you can purchase, for U.S. $29.95 (the going rate for most ESL Teaching
abroad resource books). This book is a directory of English schools, over 3,000 to be exact. It also gives you a
step-by-step job search guide, TESOL training modules, and lesson planning resources.
ESL Monkeys
This is a fun website. If you double click on any word, it will give you a definition! Language schools post job
openings regularly. The user can view ESL Monkeys instructions and requirements to the language schools with
regard to their postings. This is a "one-stop shopping" resource that is very well organized into
three sections: For Teachers; For Schools; and For Students. Highlight is the InfoExchange section that contains
personal accounts of overseas teaching, forums and blogs, and country information. Also includes information on
visa requirements, qualifications required and salary levels. Of particular interest is the free ESL teaching
materials offered.
ESL Teachers Board
Materials, jobs and resume posting for ESL teachers. Extensive collection of postings regarding living and
teaching abroad. This information can prove invaluable when considering the unpredictable and damaging terrorist
and weather incidences that may occur the country.

Job database with job search and resume posting. Special feature is an opportunity to receive emails of open
teaching positions. The website also provides an extensive ESL Directory and links.
Get-by.com
Not-for-profit website designed to help working, studying and traveling foreigners make their experiences abroad
more comfortable. Job database, classified and personal ads and forum for discussion. Highlights are the sections
on cooking/recipe sharing and the game room. This website is still under construction, but it looks to be very helpful.
GoTeach.com
Vertical search site helps you locate TESOL courses and workshops. Workshops are designed to prepare English
teachers for teaching abroad, but are limited to Canadian venues. Testimonials are included, but only describe
the workshops, not the site, or travel experiences and how to get there. There are teacher blogs, and a marvelous
job center that lists jobs it finds on its vertically connected sites. Browsing teacher resumes is a highlight of
this website. When "teach" is clicked, it sends researchers to Tesall.com.
International Teacher Forum
For Those Working or Interested in International Education. There is an International teacher forum as
well as links to blogs that can help you get
in contact with other teachers.
Edufind Jobs
TESOL job opportunities, teacher training and resources. Free service offers an opportunity to post resumes
online and track job application progress.
Joy Jobs
If you are willing to buy this JoyJobs software that includes all the information you need to know about teaching
abroad, this one is very thorough. The package costs US $39.95, but there is also a great amount of information
on the website. Not only are there English teaching jobs, but others as well. Why not get your foot in the door
teaching another subject while waiting for the right English teaching job?
Language Magazine
From language, education and communication this is a great publication for anyone teaching a language. For a
decade, Language Magazine has been the ideal medium for information regarding language related professions
and businesses.
Learn 4 Good
Need a visa? Do you need place to stay, and directions to get you there? Learn4Good helps you find this information
along with great listings for language schools. Language schools are advertised on the home page of Learn4Goods
website. They are not merely listed, but are contained in information "cells" that help you click to the schools websites.
Linguistic Funland
Several websites include either personal accounts of teaching abroad, or resources for teaching English abroad.
Linguistic Funland is in the format of an annotated bibliography. A great starting point to look for ESL
jobs and certification programs that will allow you to teach abroad. Includes a warning for the customer not to
send money to a school or business, in case of fraud. This site claims to be useful for information only, and
makes no guarantees. There is also a "job announcement" page. They offer to connect you with teacher
pen pals-always a good way to get new ideas!
Marks ESL World
Claims to be "your one-stop mega-portal to everything that's ESL." Resource directory offering an
abundance of links to topics such as job listings, places to post resumes, forums and a host of other resources.
Like the other ESL Teaching search engines, there are many job opportunities posted in the larger Asian countries.
Marks ESL World helps you narrow your search to specific countries. Information about homestays is
included. The number of jobs posted is displayed on their job board next to the country it covers.
Oxford Seminars, Teach English Overseas - TESOL/TESL Teacher Training Certification Course
Massive website offering information primarily on the CELTA Certification Program. Major highlight of this
website is the country profiles that give typical teaching contract information including length of contract,
pay and cost of living. Even if one does not choose to participate in this program, this website provides
useful information regarding strategies and tips for an ESL job search, and provides links to job databases.
Recruit.net
Search engine with jobs anywhere in the world. There is a section on the screen that lists all the schools
and companies that hire English teachers. The list they offer is made up of those schools hiring at the moment.
The posting dates are given, the establishments philosophy, the qualifications needed, but not the terms. You
can upload your resume on the site, and access employers through the website.
Teach Overseas
An international teacher/author has created a guidebook for teaching abroad. She offers all the advice you need,
but you must download her book in order to receive this valuable information. The price of the downloadable book
includes a list of resources for finding jobs.
TEFL.com
Extensive TEFL network featureing a job database offering international ELT positions, a career planner and
information on teacher training. Opportunity to post resumes online with an attached photograph, audio or video clip.
TEFL.net
Easily search for TESOL jobs and post your resume. Teaching resources as well as tips on writing your resume.
ESL FAQ section is very informative for the first time ESL teacher.
TEFL Job Placement
Job placement organization offering that you will "get a job abroad or your money back." This
website is included as an example an agency that requires an employee-paid fee to find a teaching position.
With the wealth of free job databases and job posting opportunities, it is not necessary or advisable to pay a fee.

Extensive TEFL network featuring sections on career, teaching and resources. ESL jobs worldwide and an
opportunity to post resumes online. Of particular interest are the frequently asked questions which provide
candid answers regarding finding ESL jobs abroad, living conditions, information on health insurance and more.

information on the subject of living and working abroad. Buy books through the site, and find out all you
need to know about living in any country. The site is for any type of job abroad.
Using English
Great resource for anything related to ESL including printable handouts. There are examples of tests for
teachers to utilize including an ESL forum for teachers to communicate with other ESL teachers.
