What We're Doing: Energy

The University has an Energy Star purchasing policy ensuring that all new products are energy efficient. Facilities is also setting thermostats to an energy saving 68° F in the winter and 78° F in the summer time. New construction on campus is also following energy efficiency building practices by using natural light and insulation.

Reducing our carbon footprint and saving money: Each KWh generated reduces CO2 emissions by 1.6 lb AND saves the University $0.14. As of May 12, 2009 we have saved about 34,000 lbs of CO2 and about $3,000.
