Joe Crowley Student Union
Campus Profile for Potential Retailers
The University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada’s land grant university and a preeminent research institution in the western United States, recently constructed the Joe Crowley Student Union building on its main campus situated in northwestern Reno.
Nevada remains the fastest growing State in the Country. This population growth has contributed to the plans for a substantial expansion of the University’s campus and facilities. The University’s current enrollment of more than 15,500 students is projected to grow to more than 20,000 students over the next ten years.
The new Joe Crowley Student Union, a 167,000 square foot facility, to be constructed at a cost exceeding $63 million, shall be the center for student and faculty activity on campus. A full description of this exciting real estate development can be found at http://www.unr.edu/studentunion. The union opened in November of 2007.
Key components of the student union include the food service court, sports grille and other retail shopping areas. There are two food court spaces, the sports grille space, and one non-food retail space still available.
The food court includes five spaces. Currently, Port of Subs and Tahoe Creamery are open with plans for Villa Ristorante to open in Fall 2008. There are two additional food court spaces available – 559 sq ft and 1460 sq ft.
In addition to the food court, there are three other food retail spaces. Already open are Starbucks and Keva Juice. The available space of the sports grille (approximately 1900 sq ft.) will complete the food spaces.
Non-food retail includes the currently operating ASUN Bookstore and associated Pack Pit Stop convenient store as well as JC&C Wireless and associated Wolf PACKage. Scheduled to open in Fall 2008 are Silver State Credit Union and Kaplan Test Prep. There is one additional non-food retail space available at 847 sq ft.
