Often times due to classes, time spent studying and myriad of other demands, college students put off getting sufficient exercise. As a result the average college student can expect to gain between 15 and 20 pounds in their freshman year. Current research indicates that students who regularly participate in Campus Recreation offerings are more likely to stay in college, graduate at higher rates, earn higher GPA's and have an overall more satisfying college experience.
