Accessibility Statement

The Disability Resource Center and the University of Nevada, Reno is committed to maintaining fully accessible web sites for persons with disabilities. To this end, all web pages of the Disability Resource Center web site (those files preceded by "www.unr.edu/stsv/slservices/drc" in their URL) are compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

To ensure full accessibility of the site's content to all browsers and internet devices, graphical presentation is only optimized for newer browsers that support web standards. The content is fully accessible to older browsers such as Netscape 4.x, but without full graphical presentation.

Browser Accessibility

If your browser or internet device does not support style sheets properly (such as Netscape 4.x), the content of this site is still readable, albeit in a reduced presentation form.

Select browsers that support style sheets:

Standards Compliance

In order to ensure maximum accessibility on all internet devices such as web-enabled phones, PDAs as well as most web browsers and operating systems, DRC web pages have been designed in accordance with the W3C's web specifications. All of the gateway pages validate as XHTML 1.0, CSS and Section 508-compliant (front page validations.)

Text resizing

Please look to the top right-hand corner of your screen for text resizing options. Note: text resizing requires JavaScript be enabled in your browser.

Access keys

Access keys are keyboard shortcuts used to quickly navigate through a web site. Access keys can be invoked with the key combinations Alt+<key> using a PC or Shift+Control+<key> using a Macintosh. Once an access key has "given focus" to a link, the link can then be activated pressing Enter. Links on the Macintosh are automatically activated upon focus. The following access keys are defined on all of the University of Nevada gateway web pages:
